This news is about Disney+ getting better picture quality, like way better. I’m excited! They are starting to use something called HDR10+. Wow! This makes the screen look more bright and colorful, and the dark parts are darker. I like it a lot.
The first shows to have this super picture are from Hulu. That’s a good start. There are about 1,000 Hulu shows getting this upgrade now, I think. Many shows! Later, Disney+ will put HDR10+ on other shows, too. When? They did not tell me.
Samsung, the big TV company, told everyone about this new thing. Samsung is smart. For right now, if you want to watch this super picture, you need a Samsung TV. Any Samsung Crystal UHD TV from 2018 or newer will work, I heard. This is the first time Disney+ is using this kind of great picture format. I hope it looks cool.
HDR10+ is like a newer and improved version of the old HDR10. It is a good upgrade. It’s trying to be better than another picture type called Dolby Vision. They both make the picture better scene-by-scene. A person from Samsung said, “We are happy viewers get to see this better look now.” I bet they are.
They think HDR10+ makes the picture look more real and more fun to watch. Maybe so! It’s only Hulu shows now so they can check to see if it works right. That is a smart way to do it. A Disney+ person, he didn’t give his name, said, “We pick only some shows first to be certain it is good.” They want quality!
He also said, “This is only the start, we will add more later.” Excellent! If you have the right TV, HDR10+ is super for you. The picture is much clearer. It helps you see tiny things in the dark parts and also the bright parts of the screen. I like seeing all the details.
Colors look much brighter and more real. Even nature shows will look better, I guess. Mark Ellis, who tests tech, said, “You can see the difference easily.” I trust him. He also said, “Colors pop, shadows are deeper, and the picture looks like it has more space.” That sounds wonderful.
Netflix started using HDR10+ back in March. More people use it now. This means HDR10+ is a very popular picture standard. That is good news. Sarah Miller, an analyst, said, “It is important for streaming to have HDR10+ now.” Viewers want the best picture.
It makes sense Disney+ chose to work with Samsung first. Samsung has pushed this technology a lot. This partnership helps Disney+ show off the new picture to many people. I hope they enjoy it. It’s a time when streaming companies are trying hard to make viewing better. They are trying hard to make me happy.
Better picture and sound is a good way to get new people and keep the old people happy. I would think. Disney’s movies already use Dolby Vision, another great picture type. They have options. This move just gives us another choice for the best picture. It is great for us.
I wonder when other Disney+ shows that are not Hulu will get this upgrade. I am waiting to know. HDR10+ coming to Disney+ is a big deal and it will make watching more fun. It sure is a good thing for everybody!
