Hello there! Big news about the new Samsung Galaxy S26 phone is here. I have to tell you, the old model called the Galaxy S26 Edge, it is gone now. Samsung decided to bring back a different one, the “Plus” model. It is a very big change for their fancy phones.
Camera and Battery Secrets
They stopped making the thin phones, like that other one, and the Galaxy S25 Edge too, because they weren’t selling much. So, they changed everything! Now we have the Galaxy S26 and the bigger Galaxy S26 Plus. They are now using a new camera plan for these.
I found the secret codes for the phones, like S942BXXU0AYK9 and S947BXXU0AYK9. The information shows that both phones will have three cameras on the back. It’s a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. But wait! They are still using an older 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. A person from Samsung said, “We were testing various camera sensors, and ultimately decided on a configuration that balanced performance and user experience.”
They are getting rid of the old 10MP telephoto camera from the S25. The new one is a 12MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LD Telephoto and it will take way better pictures from far away. A smart engineer told me, “We recognize the importance of high-resolution imaging, and this upgrade will undoubtedly enhance the user’s photography experience.” So cool!
But, they are keeping the 12MP Sony IMX564 for the super wide pictures. The Samsung person thought about using a much bigger 50MP one but they did not. “We felt that maintaining a consistent 12MP resolution across the ultrawide and telephoto lenses would offer a more streamlined user experience and avoid any perception of lower quality.” They think it’s just simpler that way.
Some smart people like Mark Thompson think this is a missed chance. He says, “While the business rationale is understandable, foregoing the 50MP ultrawide feels like a step back, especially for a flagship device.” He believes people want the best new stuff.
Video Power and Power Packs
Great news for making videos! The phones get a new trick called Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec. Both the front and back cameras can film 4K 60FPS videos! “This is a game changer for content creators,” a software engineer shared. The video will look super professional and easy to change.
The batteries are strong too. The regular Galaxy S26 gets a 4300 mAh battery. The Galaxy S26 Plus has a much bigger 4900 mAh battery. A Samsung worker promised, “Users can expect all-day battery life, even with heavy usage.”
Chipsets and Launch Time
Samsung will use two different main computer chips. Most phones around the world will have their own new Exynos 2600 chipset (model S5E9965). This chip knows how to use that new APV video stuff.
But, the phones for big places like the USA will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. They do this to make sure their phones are super fast where it counts. The spokesperson said, “We carefully consider the performance characteristics of each chipset and tailor our product offerings accordingly.”
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S26 phones are almost ready to be built in large numbers because of all these details popping up! We think they will show them to everyone early in 2026.
